Exodus 32:1-33:23
Matthew 26:69-27:14
Psalm 33:1-11
Proverbs 8:33-36

Verse of the day:

“The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him.  For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.” (Psalm 33:6-9 NLT)

As I was reading through this Psalm an old song came to mind that we used to sing in church. It goes like this “You are beautiful beyond description. Too marvelous for words. Too wonderful for comprehension. Like nothing ever seen or heard. Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom? Who can fathom the depths of Your love? You are beautiful beyond description Majesty, enthroned above. And I stand, I stand in awe of You. I stand; I stand in awe of You. Holy God to whom all praise is due. I stand in awe of You.”

In the Psalm David encourages us to stand in awe of God. When was the last time you paused to stop and be in awe of God? When was the last time you stopped and took in the wonder of all that He has created with just His word?

Something incredible happens when we stop and are in awe of God. We begin to see how small we are and how big and mighty our God is. Our problems begin to look small in comparison to God. We begin to have proper perspective.

If it has been awhile since you have stopped and told God just how awestruck you are by Him do it today!  If you are in a place where you have lost your awe look at the moon and stars, look at the detail of the flowers in the grocery store, admire the animals that He created at the zoo, look at your loved ones. There is so much to be in awe of!
