Keep Moving Forward

Verse of the day:
"Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground." (Exodus 14:15-16, NLT)
God promised a bright future to the Israelites. He promised to deliver them from slavery and to lead them to the Promised Land - a place of freedom, abundance, and hope. These powerful promises however did not convey the complexities and challenges of the journey. These promises could be regarded as mountain tops divided by a terrifying valley.
I wonder why God didn't give them more details about their future. Could it be that God wanted them to trust Him and as a result gain a better understanding of who He is and what He can do?
Not too long after starting their journey, the Israelites found themselves questioning the wisdom of leaving Egypt and the viability of entering the Promised Land. When they found themselves between a rock and a hard place, they questioned God's plan.
God answered them by reaffirming that everything was going according to plan and ordered them to keep moving forward. That's exactly what they ended up doing. They trusted God and the very sea that appeared to be their death sentence became a powerful reminder that God was in control.
God has also promised you a great future; but the road there will be filled with roadblocks. What you do in these times will shape your future. You can stop to question God's plan or you can trust Him and continue to move forward.
God is still in control. Keep moving forward.
