“You also must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.” (Luke 12:40)
A few years ago, there was a television show on how to prep for what was rumored to be the coming of the end of world. The people in the show had everything planned out. They even documented the timing of several routes to their prepared shelters. The prepared shelters consisted of stock piles of food and toiletries. Here are people over planning for something that wasn’t even guaranteed.
In Luke chapter 12 starting in verse 35, Jesus warns us to prepare for His coming. In Verse 40 Jesus says “You also must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.” He doesn’t say this to trick or trap us. Jesus is providing us with ample time to repent and accept him as Lord and Savior in our heart and to help seek and save the lost. As Christ followers who want to be prepared, we should be truthful, ready to be a witness, trustworthy, and diligent.
Unlike the preppers from the television show who were prepping for end times out of fear, we as Christians should be anticipating eternal life with our Lord with a joyful heart.
