Not Ashamed With Good News
Posted: Sunday, July 12
1 Chronicles 12:19-14:17
Verse of the day:
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. (Romans 1:16)
As sin is becoming more accepted and condoned in the world around us as Christians we begin to feel more pressure to be quiet and ashamed of what we believe. There is a pressure to not rock the boat or offend anyone with our Christian beliefs. But what should we be ashamed of? Our belief in Christ is good news for the world around us! Christ offers salvation and hope to those who find themselves lost and broken. This good news is not just for specially selected people, but for all people! For that reason we need to have boldness and confidence to share this wonderful news with everyone!
In my experience people are more often offended by our approach then in the actual message that we have to share! We need to be bold, but we also need to be filled with love and compassion. Jesus was the ultimate example of how to share the good news but to do so in a way that was filled with love and not condemnation. His genuine love and concern for those who found themselves trapped in sin was motivation for them to turn away from their life of sin. Often we would see them so inspired and changed after their interaction with Jesus that they would enthusiastically tell everyone what Christ had done for them!
If you don’t know where to start in sharing the good news start with sharing what God has done in your life! What are the good things that He has done in your life? How has He brought freedom into your life? Good news draws people in and we have the best good news to share!
