One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Hosea 4:1-5:15
2 John 1:1-13
Psalm 125:1-5
Proverbs 29:9-11

Verse of the day:

Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son. (2 John 1:9)

Almost 20 years ago, I interned at a small country church in Tennessee. The pastor there had spent several years in the military when he was younger. He would tell me amazing stories of how he would wander down streets and hitch hike is way from the east coast to his family home. Then when is leave was almost up he would begin the journey back to the base, thumbing rides and wandering roads.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to wander like that. I like to have my GPS and my own car. I like to have the directions and know when I will be arriving at my destination.

Like a GPS and directions, we have God’s Word to direct our lives. So why do so many wander away from Him? When we stay in His teachings, when we obey what He has commanded and remain in Him, we have a relationship with God.

Have you wandered? Have you been living a life that is contrary to the Word of God and the things you have been taught? It is never too late for a course correction. Begin today to make your way back into relationship with God. Wise men still seek him and his is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Wanderer, it is time to come home.
