The Potter's House

1 Thessalonians 4:1-5:3
Verse of the day:
“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.” (Jeremiah 18:6 [NLT)
Do you want to be used by God? Do you want your life to turn out beautifully?
God instructed the prophet Jeremiah to visit the potter’s house to observe the process of clay formation with a fresh set of eyes. If we can understand how a potter forms clay when can gain a better understanding of how God is working in our lives.
First of all, God takes a hands-on approach when it comes to shaping our lives. As a potter’s hand remains on the piece of clay as it spins on the wheel so God is close and is working in our lives, whether we see it or not.
Secondly, God is shaping us to be something useful. He is forming us so that we can be of service to Him. God has no intention of saving you without making you useful for His purposes. He will patiently and methodically remove all defects from our lives to this end.
Third, God is working to make us useful…from his perspective. The potter has the right to shape the clay according to his desires. As always, God knows best.
