One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Job 4:1-7:21
1 Corinthians 14:18-40
Psalm 37:30-40
Proverbs 21:27

Verse of the day:

Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. (Psalm 37:34)

Another translation says it something like this—“Wait passionately for God and do not allow your feet to leave the path He has prepared for you. He will give you your place in the sun while He removes those who would harm you.”

God’s word tells us “The steps of the righteous are ordered of God.” That should encourage us that even when we cannot see what is ahead, if we continue on the path He has set before us, in due time we will see His promise fulfilled in our lives.

I know there are those times when the enemy of our soul tries to obstruct our way and sight with things that can cause fear to rise up within us—tempting us to veer off the ordained path God has prepared for us. That is when the second part of this verse comes in to play—“You will see the wicked destroyed.”

But to see that part of the verse come to pass, we must travel “steadily”, by faith, focused on the prize before us, with our hope fully placed in the hands of God. For that, He says He will honor us—imagine…, God honoring us.
