One Year Bible Reading Guide

Jeremiah 33:1-34:22
1 Timothy 4:1-16
Psalm 89:1-13
Proverbs 25:23-24

Verse of the day:

Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. (I Timothy 4:15 NLT)

God designed each of us for meaningful productivity. Our first job assignment can be found in Genesis 1:28. “…Fill the earth and govern it…” We pick up our corner of the responsibility when we respond to a spirit-led opportunity. You may never have dreamed of becoming a waiter, caregiver, CEO, or laborer, but God has called each of us to work with diligence and excellence. Whether or not you love your job, following Christ should alter the way you approach it.

Colossians 3:23 // “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

If we live for the recognition of our boss, our coworker, or our customer, we will always end up empty. Work unto the Lord. Everyone of us is first employed by God.

Proverbs 12:11 // “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.“

Work with what you have today. Pursue the opportunities you have today. The future will come when God allows it. Your responsibility is to give your best today.

Genesis 2:3 // “And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.”

Be a worshipper first, and a worker second. God is not honored by the work that separates us from Him. Take time to rest each week. Prioritize God and the ones you love.
