The Power Of A News Report

1 Chronicles 12:19-14:17
Verse of the Day:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. (Romans 1:16 NIV)
There is power in a news report.
Stories on violence, terrorism and politics have the power to cause distress and anxiety.
Reports about people overcoming challenges have the power to uplift, encourage and motivate.
Articles on fitness, health trends, products and technology have the power to change the way we live and what we buy.
Sometimes the news is so bad that we just cannot take it anymore. We put down our phone or turn off the TV. On other occasions, we want others to be inspired by what we have watched or read so we click "like", "share" and "retweet".
The gospel is the "good news" of Jesus Christ and the hope we have for eternity through His sacrifice on the cross.
This news also has power. In fact, the power of the gospel is unmatched. Paul writes, "it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).
When the gospel is shared, lives are changed. Relationships are restored. Hope is restored. Those who are spiritual broken by sin are forever restored in the eyes of their Heavenly Father.
