When People Wrong You

1 Corinthians 12:27-13:13
Verse of the day:
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. ( Psalm 37:7)
So many times when we see the going-ons around us, we want immediate action to take place in order to correct the fallaciousness of a situation. We want what seems to be unfair or wrong to come to a neck breaking halt! We point our finger up to the heavens and say something like, “Lord, if I were in your position, I would handle what I’m seeing like this, or like that”—just sayin’…, Lord. Then to make things worse, those feelings are exasperated when, not only are people doing wrong, but they seem to prosper at it—that really pushes it over the top—doesn’t it!?
Well, this is where part “a” of the verse comes into play. Instead of us telling God, we need to listen to Him—“Be still in His presence…, wait patiently for Him…” The simple fact is, He has it all under control. Whatever gains those who do wrong in the sight of God make, are only temporary—while the gains of those who do right are eternal.
So let’s keep our eye on the prize—not on the distractions around us. And remember, when we are watching them, (those who do wrong), they are watching us—let’s be an attractive example—leave the sorting of things out to God.
