Verse of the day

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

(Romans 12:2)

We are in the middle of a Christian Worldview series at Oak Creek Assembly of God. This past Sunday Pastor Brooks referenced Romans 12:2 to encourage the church to not conform to the pattern of this world or any worldview except the Christian Worldview.

The pattern of this world has a mold. Followers of Christ shouldn’t allow the world to squeeze us into this mold. When we surrender to the true God, we should abandon the thought-patterns and lifestyles of this world. Paul uses the word world to really mean system. People have built this system to make themselves happy and self-sufficient without God.

The good news is that Christ died to deliver us from this world and its antagonistic system to God. Just like Christ, we are no longer of this world. We are sent by God to this world to testify that its works are evil and that salvation is available to all who put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only are we separated, but we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Now we think the way God thinks, as revealed in the Bible. We now have a Christian Worldview and live in this world with this lens.
