Verse of the day:

We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory. (1 Thessalonians 2:12)

Have you ever been invited to something awesome because of someone you knew? The one and only Packer game I’ve been to was at Soldier Field a few years ago (against the Bears for those who were wondering). My good friend Landon’s dad had received 4 tickets from work. Lucky me, Landon invited my father and I to join them and I was pumped! So pumped that even though it was a late October game, I was determined to show my Packer pride with a green and gold painted chest. Sorry for that mental image, I was just a kid. I was so cold that day, but it’s an event I’ll never forget.

Being invited to something awesome that we wouldn’t have access to without a sweet connection makes those events even more unforgettable. Whether it’s back stage at a concert, meeting a celebrity, or getting to go to an exclusive sporting event, nothing is going to even remotely compare to the awe of experiencing Heaven, God’s Kingdom. It’s a place He’s prepared just for us. He made it to wow us and provide a perfect home after Earth. Best yet, God desperately desires for us to share that with Him.

Paul encourages us in today’s verse of the day to live in a way that’s worthy of that invitation to Heaven. Can you imagine how rude and embarrassing it would have been if I completely acted out at the Packer game after my friend and his dad exclusively invited me? I didn’t do anything to deserve to go to that game, but I was invited because they wanted to experience that game with me. It’s the same between God and you. Live a life worthy of the invitation to Heaven. Don’t embarrass God, but live in a way that shows Him you’re thankful. Become worthy to be shared with.
