One Year Bible Reading:

1 Chronicles 15:1-16:36
Romans 1:18-32
Psalms 10:1-15
Proverbs 19:6-7

Verse of the Day:

But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. (Psalm 10:14b NIV)

God and His principles are against those who take advantage of people who are powerless, who are going through a series of difficulties, or who are in compromising situations. Those who exploit the needy, weak, poor, or disadvantaged must know that God sees their actions and will hold them accountable.

But for those who are in distress, you must keep your faith in God, trusting that he sees, cares, and will send his help at the right time. Now, for those of us who are not powerless and in need, we need to be working for the deliverance and blessing of those who are facing difficulties and hardships—assuring them that we will help shoulder their burden and that God’s help is on the way, and that he will be a father to the fatherless.

So today, think of several people you know who are in times of real distress and heartbreak. Then take the time to minister to them. Praying that God will fill them with His Holy Spirit so they will have the strength and courage necessary to endure—that He will bless them with deliverance that is clearly from Him. In this way, all will know of His grace and give glory to Him.
